Emanuela Frattini Magnusson

The daughter of an artist, Gianfranco Frattini, as it happens, who is seen as one of the creators of Italian design in the Sixties, Emanuela took her first steps in the world of architecture and design in Milan under her father’s guidance. It was not long, however, before she moved first to London and then to New York, where she collaborates with renowned professional studios and various Italian publications, including Domus, Casa Vogue and Abitare. She started up her own brand, EFM, in the Big Apple, a famous international multidisciplinary studio working in the fields of architecture, interior design, product design, product and graphic development, designing projects all over the world. Her best-known products include the oval wooden Carlomagno table produced by Montina, the Propeller tables for Knoll, the Spinneybeck patchwork haired hide rug, the range of Otto aluminium vases with coloured glass bases for Dune and the now iconic Sky umbrella. There is also a collection of accessories on sale exclusively at MoMA. Emanuela Frattini Magnusson was Global Head of Design at Bloomberg, the multinational financial data and news company, where she was responsible for design strategy relating to the company’s huge real estate assets.
